Apple announced today that beginning Monday, October 24, Apple Fitness+, the award-winning fitness and health service designed to welcome everyone, will be available for iPhone users to subscribe and enjoy, even if they don’t have an Apple Watch. With iOS 16.1, Fitness+ will be fully integrated with the Fitness app in the middle tab, available in all 21 countries where the service is offered.
On the same day, Taylor Swift’s music will be available on the service for the first time ever, starting with a solo series dedicated to Spotlight artists featuring newly released songs from her album “Midnights” on October 21. The Yoga for Every Runner program, featuring one of the world’s top ultramarathons, Scott Jurek, and led by fitness and yoga instructor Jessica Skye. Time to Walk will also have new guests, including Emmy Award-winning actress Hannah Waddingham, world-renowned singer-songwriter Megan Trainor, and former astronaut and Colonel Eileen M. Collins. Fitness+ will also introduce three new combinations: the all-80s cycling, the best cool-downs for athletes, and the 14-day HIIT and strength challenge.
This year, there are more ways to get started with Fitness+ with new specials from SilverSneakers, Target, UnitedHealthcare and Mobile Health, and for the first time ever, customers can now get three free months of Fitness+ with the purchase of a new device. iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV.

Fitness+ is available for iPhone users
Starting October 24, for the first time ever, Fitness+ will be available to iPhone users to subscribe and enjoy in the 21 countries where it’s offered, even if they don’t have an Apple Watch. iPhone users will have access to the full service of more than 3,000 studio-style exercises and meditations, led by a diverse and comprehensive team of coaches. Users will also see on-screen trainer instructions and interval timings, and the estimated calories burned will be used to make progress in their motion loop.
With iOS 16.1, Fitness+ will be fully integrated with the Fitness app located in the middle tab, where users can already stay motivated to close their Move ring with training, awards, activity sharing and more. Users only need an iPhone to sign up, and they can then try Fitness+ on their iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. Fitness+ subscribers without an Apple TV can use AirPlay to stream workouts or meditations to compatible third-party devices, and all AirPlay-enabled Roku devices will see on-screen metrics for extra motivation next month.
Fitness+ users who use Apple Watch can continue to take their motivation to the next level with customized real-time metrics displayed on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV, plus the ability to experience Time to Walk, Time to Run, and meditations with only a paired Apple Watch. Actress Spotlight With Taylor Swift
Starting October 24, Taylor Swift’s music will be available on the service for the first time ever, starting with a solo series dedicated to Spotlight artists featuring newly released songs from her October 21 album “Midnights.” For one artist, and every Monday for three weeks, new workouts featuring Taylor Swift’s music will appear across exercise types including Core, Cycling, Dance, HIIT, Pilates, Rowing, Strength, Treadmill, and Yoga.
To celebrate the “midnight” theme, the first three workouts will feature a special light, and Fitness + coaches will highlight the artist in fun and creative ways. In a treadmill workout, the first letter of each training tip will be combined by Fitness Coach + Scott Carven to spell ‘Swifty’. In a HIIT workout, Fitness + trainer Anja Garcia will train users in 13-second intervals to adjust to Swift’s convergence of 13.
Yoga for Every Runner with Scott Jurek
Cross training is essential for runners of all levels, as it may help improve speed and strength and help prevent injury. Fitness + will introduce a new exercise program, Yoga for Every Runner, featuring and co-designed with Scott Jurek, one of the world’s top ultramarathon athletes and author, led by Fitness + Yoga instructor Jessica Skye. Inspired by Scott’s approach and the integration of yoga, this program is designed to improve running posture, balance, and movement. Users can do all of their 10-minute yoga workouts as a warm-up, recovery stretch, or mixed with other workouts from the Fitness+ library. As with all Fitness + studio exercises, adjustments are shown so that users can enjoy the workouts at their own level.
Fitness+’s workout programs – such as Workouts for Beginners, Workouts for Seniors, Staying Active During Pregnancy, and Prepare for Snow Season – feature customized content designed to support users through a season of life or help them prepare for important moments.
